Meet the team

We are Tania and Steve, owners of Wildwood B&B. We have two older children, one no longer a teenager...and a much loved dog called Milo. We also have seven koi carp in our garden pond and a wide variety of wild birds that flock to our bird feeders every day.

Tania Joyce

B&B Owner
As well as managing the day-to-day running of the B&B, Tania is a freelance designer and has run her own design business for many years. She runs Wildwood Design alongside the B&B and offers a range of design & photography services for small businesses and artists. She has a passion for gardening, houseplants, mid-century furniture and collectables, art, Russian dolls, walking with Milo in the forest, photography, mushrooms and feeding wild birds.

Steve Gillson

B&B Owner
As a born and bred Londoner, Steve has embraced country living in the New Forest very well, although he still supports Crystal Palace football team. He is an avid music fan and collects vinyl. He is responsible for the record player on the sideboard in our dining room and playing records for our guests during breakfast. Steve enjoys getting out and about in the forest when he isn't commuting to London. He married Tania in May 2024, it only took 31 years.
"We have spent three relaxing days in New Forest, all the while staying at Wildwood. The stay was perfect in every sense. We could combine forest walks and visiting local coast. The B&B is right next to a train station so one can hike quite far and come back by train if desired or use the train to visit Bournemouth and Poole without having to drive. The B&B itself is a gem. It only has two guest bedrooms; there is a plenty of parking space in front of the house and an easy car access from the street. Our bedroom was spacious and tastefully decorated; we found tea and freshly ground coffee in the room, and homemade cookies to boot"

Milo

Lurcher
Milo is our rescue lurcher, he is 10 years old now and has proved very popular with our B&B guests. He is a gentle, sensitive dog, but perhaps not the brightest. He loves being made a fuss of and actually thinks we run a B&B so that he has more people to worship him. He really loves greeting our B&B guests but he is very well behaved and knows that he has to go to his bed when our guests sit at the table for breakfast. Milo loves sleeping, chasing squirrels and running around in the New Forest, although he is not as speedy as he used to be.
"Tania’s attention to detail is amazing, enhancing our experience immensely. There is such a warm, calming atmosphere in the premises, contributing to the enjoyment. Thank you"

Would you like to come and stay?
"So very welcoming, especially Milo, the very friendly and well behaved family dog. Everything so clean and comfortable, lovely to have your own fridge where there is lovely fresh cold water every day and milk.

Bathroom cleaned everyday and the breakfast, well, second to none. Great choice of beverage in the room with very tasty home-made cookies and a couple of welcome chocolates, replaced when empty.

Tania is a brilliant host and anything you need you just have to ask. Nothing is too much trouble. Thank you"

"We loved our time staying with Tania, Steve and Milo. We received a warm and friendly welcome into their beautiful home. The breakfast was delicious and we were treated to some lovely music played on vinyl.

The room was extremely clean and well appointed. We would thoroughly recommend this wonderful B&B in the heart of the New Forest and can’t wait to visit again. Thank you Tania for a lovely week x"

Our story

Making a fresh start in the New Forest

We made the decision to leave London and move to the New Forest for family reasons and it turned out to be the best decision we could have made.

Sway is a friendly village and the ideal base from which to explore the New Forest and coastline. You can walk from Wildwood and be in the forest within 10 minutes. And, within a short drive away,  there are so many varied locations to visit, including the forest, the coast and many tourist attractions. Every season is so different in the forest, I find it hard to choose a favourite.

At Wildwood B&B we aim to offer you a comfortable, welcoming place to stay, with home cooked breakfast made from locally sourced produce. We play vinyl in the mornings for our guests and our home is filled with colour, art and vintage finds.

We opened in June 2018 and have now been running for 7 years. We welcome your feedback as are constantly looking for ways to improve the service we offer.

We hope you will come and stay with us and leave wanting to return.

"Absolutely gorgeous B&B in the heart of Sway village. Beautiful decor, and a wonderful host, who paid great attention to detail. We visited in December, and it was beautifully decorated for Christmas too. Fabulous breakfast, and whilst eating we could watch the birds in the garden on the bird feeders. Bed was super comfy, and there was ample tea, coffee and hot chocolate, and a fridge with water and milk. Highly recommended"
